Alzheimer's is a type of dementia that affects memory, thinking, and behaviour. It is a progressive condition in which brain cells gradually degenerate, leading to impaired memory, difficulty with language and reasoning, confusion, changes in mood and personality, and reduced ability to perform daily activities. The number of patients affected by cognitive decline has been increasing worldwide.
In Ayurveda, cognitive decline is associated with the depletion of Ojas, aggravation of Vata dosha affecting the nervous system, and impairment of Medha (intellect and memory).
