Migraine Headache

Migraine headaches are one of the most common problems seen in emergency departments and doctors’ offices. They are due to changes in the brain and surrounding blood vessels.A migraine is primary a headache disorder characterized by recurrent headaches that are moderate to severe. Typically, the headaches affect one half of the head, are pulsating in nature, and last from two to 72 hours. Associated symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light, sound, or smell. The pain is generally made worse by physical activity. Up to one-third of people have an aura: typically a short period of visual disturbance which signals that the headache will soon occur. Occasionally, an aura can occur with little or no headache following it.  Migraines are believed to be due to a mixture of environmental and genetic factors. About two-thirds of cases run in families. Changing hormone levels may also play a role, as migraines affect slightly more boys than girls before puberty and two to three times more women than men. The risk of migraines usually decreases during pregnancy. The underlying mechanisms are not fully known. It is, however, believed to involve the nerves and blood vessels of the brain.

” According to me Diabetes is one of the worst diseases I had ever experienced. Being a person loving sweet, I was not allowed to have sweets for the past 4 years. My friend referred me to Rishi and now I am completely free to have my favourite sweets and I have got my blood sugar levels controlled like never before. The staff and doctors helped me to understand the disease in detail and the counselling session helped me to overcome the mental agonies of being a diabetes patient. Now I am confident and I am leading a happy life with my family and grandchildren. I am grateful to the team who developed the treatment program in such a way without much restrictions and hassles. “ Dr Somasekharan Pillai
